Center for Arts, Design, and Social Research
CAD+SR is a vibrant new community for open-ended inquiry into pressing social issues, involving a select group of artists, designers, writers, scholars. Based on collaboration, innovation, and creation, the center’s core programs include fellowships and residencies for artists, designers, scientists, technologists, writers, and humanities and social science researchers.
I am currently a Researcher in Residence (formerly a Research Fellow 2018-2019), collaborating with a global group of artists, designers and researchers during residencies, workshops, summits, and research projects. I have participated in three of the center’s residencies, in Italy (Villa Pianciani and Il Berneto) and Mexico (Mérida).
As part of my work with the Center, I actively collaborate in CAD+SR’s research projects:
- “Affecting Technologies”,exploring the affective characteristics and possibilities of technologies across the variegated temporal and geo-political landscapes of the 21st century, and how they are intimately entwined in our everyday lives;
- “Global (A)rt Stories”, creating a global network of people interested in radicalizing the notion of Art and its official (his)stories (the search being not for a substitution of one “global” narrative for another, but for a multifaceted set of engagements that together transform this field of expert knowledge into a field of experiences.);
- “De/Archive”, exploring the politics of archives, and how we can think differently about, and re-route the pathways, homes, and communities of our knowledge and memories.
